Brian Michael Clarke considers drawing to be at the heart of his practice; it gives voice to his ideas while at the same time providing the structure and language of inter-relation by which those ideas can evolve and be moved forward.

Roseberry Topping Series 2024

This series of drawings drew inspiration from St Oswald’s Well near Roseberry Topping, North Yorkshire, Great Britain. This ancient and forgotton site of folk-worship returns time and again in Brian Michael Clarke’s work; with a haunting sense of genius loci it also acts as a focus and source of drawing ideas.
